Today is one of those days where I am completely elated to be alive and well. It doesn’t matter what’s thrown my way because I don’t think anything can dampen my mood (look for me strolling the streets to “Tubthumping” by Chumbawamba). On days like this I take a little extra time to get ready and always gravitate towards an outfit that has me feeling comfortable and confident (a.k.a. mom jeans always).
It’s almost Friday!
Last weekend I went to the tree farm to cut down my Christmas tree—a tradition that my family has upheld for as long as I can remember. When we were younger, my dad would have my brother and I pick a number (either one or two), and whoever picked right got to choose which tree we took home that year. We’d decorate it with bins full of ornaments and with White Christmas playing in the background.
Going to the pumpkin patch is one of my favorite fall activities. It brings back a nostalgic feeling from when my mom used to take me as a kid. Though my favorite part has shifted from the plastic pumpkin-shaped cups to the rich colors, smell of fall leaves and warm apple cider, the pumpkin patch still remains at the top of my to-do list during the cooler season.
I always play it safe when it comes to jewelry. I don’t go for anything too big and I definitely stay away from bright colors. I’ve also, however, been trying to step out of my comfort zone and expand my wardrobe. That’s why when I saw this necklace for the first time, I knew it was the perfect piece to push my style to the limit.
