Emerald X Gold

Today is one of those days where I am completely elated to be alive and well. It doesn’t matter what’s thrown my way because I don’t think anything can dampen my mood (look for me strolling the streets to “Tubthumping” by Chumbawamba). On days like this I take a little extra time to get ready and always gravitate towards an outfit that has me feeling comfortable and confident (a.k.a. mom jeans always).

I got this coat in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and it has been so perfect during the cold months. Emerald green is one of my favorite colors to wear in the winter because it compliments every skin tone and adds a richness to your getup. I especially love it with this sweater (s/o to my roommate for always letting me borrow her clothes) tucked into my go-t0 mom jeans (also worn here). No exaggeration, I wear these jeans just about every day of my life if that says anything about my attachment to them. I feel like it’s very necessary for everyone to own them too!

The real ride-or-die of this outfit are the booties. I bought them a month ago and  I swear they haven’t left my feet. I love the barely-there heel to give me a little bit of a boost, but they’re still a great option for all my tall ladies out there. Plus, the gold zipper is a nice accent. Add some gold jewelry to really make the look cohesive and you’ll be feelin’ yourself in no time.

Leave it to me to not do any research before I pick my outfits (you’ve really outdone yourself this time, Lauren), so a lot of these items aren’t available anymore (UGH). BUT I’ve linked some things that are SO similar to what I’m wearing, so you can easily recreate this look, or even put your own personal spin on it. I’d love to try it with a fitted skirt and some sock booties!

    1. Thank you! I actually rarely wear my hair like this, but I pretty much just tied it in a knot with my hair tie and then curled a few front pieces to make it more polished. SO easy!
