Summer Staple: The White Top

casualoutfit-6Okay, it’s truth time.

I have a bit of a shopping problem. This is no surprise to those of you who know me, but for those who don’t, I would consider myself a regular at stores like Sephora and Bath & Body Works. When it comes to clothes though, I am PICKY. I’m that girl that takes 10 things into the dressing room and comes out with one (usually it’s only a “maybe”). And as someone with a curvier figure, shopping online is like a game of Russian Roulette.

Knowing this dilemma and also recognizing the lack of my favorite stores in Iowa, I decided to save up my money and go all out during my trip to the East Coast. Remember that overpacking problem I mentioned in my Travel Essentials post? Well, this trumped my need to pack the extra necessities (okay, maybe I didn’t need most of it), so I left room in my suitcase for all the new goodies I was planning to bring back, and boy did I bring a lot. Even though my bank account is crying (and my future self when I need some extra cash), my closet has never been happier. Especially with my favorite purchase of them all and new summer staple— this gorgeous white shirt!

casualoutfit-3White is by far my favorite color to wear during the summer because it looks polished and brings out my natural tan. I couldn’t resist this white top when I saw it on the hanger, and after I tried it on? It was a done deal. This thing had to be mine. I love it because of its versatility— you can dress it up with jeans and heels, or dress it down with a pair of denim shorts and some lace up sandals like I did here (these shoes are my current favorite).

White Shirt: Urban Outfitters
Denim Shorts: Old Navy (old, shop similar)
Shoes: Steve Madden (also come in black)
Watch: Michael Kors

Though I may be done shopping for a little while, the new things I picked up can all be worn in multiple ways, which I think is the key to shopping. What’s your summer staple?

With love,
Lauren
