Travel Uniform: Sporty Chic

I’m coming at you live from the airport! That’s right, New York City is calling my name. I’ve been dreaming of walks through Central Park and Junior’s cheesecake for weeks now, and within a few not-so-short hours, I’ll be doing just that. But before I can dive into some mouth-watering creamy goodness, I first have to make it to the city. And what’s worse than having to wait seven gruesome hours before you arrive at your destination? Being uncomfortable while doing it.

I won’t deny it, my airport outfit usually consists of leggings, a 3x my size sweatshirt and something to hide my face from what lack of sleep did to my appearance (pre-travel jitters… happens to the best of us). However, I’m happy to announce that I’ve jumped off the sweatpants ship and graduated to something actually presentable. Psh, adulting is easy.

In no way am I ready (nor will I ever be) to go full glam for a day of travel, but I’ve realized it is possible to look cute and be comfy at the same time (say what?!). In this case, I started with my shoes and built my outfit from there. Nothing is worse than having shoes that take 10 minutes to put on, so that’s why I chose my black leather Vans to slip on and off with ease when going through the security line.

If you asked me anytime in the last five years if I would wear jeans on an airplane, I would have cringed at the mere thought. That was until these boyfriend jeans fell into my possession. Not only are these extremely comfortable, but they are also loosely fitted, which means there’s plenty of room to grow, if you know what I mean (I’m looking at you, Junior’s).

I paired this black hat to primarily tie in the shoes, but like I said, sometimes we can’t avoid the under eye bags and dull, tired looking skin. This hat is perfect for those situations and adds a nice touch to the outfit. Put on a casual tee + your outfit is complete!

-Get My Look-

Shirt: GAP (old, shop similar here + here)
Jeans: Urban Outfitters (purchased from my roomie, shop similar)
Shoes: Vans
Hat: lululemon

Order the Vans in a half size down from what you typically wear. They will feel a little snug at first, but they stretch to the perfect fit after a few wears. Enjoy!

With love,
